Källor till The Hollywood Reporter uppger att förhandlingarna mellan David Fincher, som bland annat regisserat The Social Network, och Sony Pictures om att han ska regissera filmen om Steve Jobs baserat på Walter Isaacson biografi brutit samman. Han ska tydligen ha begärt 10 miljoner dollar i förskott samt kontroll över filmens marknadsföring. Någon som Sony Pictures inte gått med på.
A source with ties to the studio says Fincher potentially could re-enter negotiations but that the fee he is seeking is “ridiculous,” adding, “You’re not doing Transformers here. You’re not doing Captain America. This is quality — it’s not screaming commerciality. He should be rewarded in success but not up front.”
David Fincher hade enligt tidigare rykten velat ha Christian Bale i rollen som Steve Jobs men om nu Fincher hoppat av är chansen att få se Bale gestalta Jobs förmodligen betydligt mindre. Personligen tror jag han passat som handen i handsken för rollen.
